Basmati Rice 1 – 1 1/2 cups of Basmati Rice
Saffron, just a few threads
3 Cardamom Pods
To make: In a large pot bring some salted water to boil. Once boiling, add in your rice and let it boil for about 8 minutes. Stir occasionally, and strain when done. (*Be sure to check doneness before draining) Place the cooked rice in a bowl and place the cardamom pods over it. In a small bowl place your Saffron threads and pour a bit of hot water over to dissolve your Saffron. Pour the Saffron threads and its water over the rice and toss well. Your rice will become yellow speckled and the cardamom pods will make the rice more fragrant. Let it sit about 5 minutes before serving.
Note: You can remove your cardamom pods before serving; they are not eatable while they are whole.
